[00:00:00] Shilpa Lewis: Yeah. Well, welcome Sophia, how are you? I am very good. Thank you for having me on your show. I appreciate that I'm very grateful for you. I have had a keen interest for a long time now in The area of how we can improve our somatic wellness and when I saw that you do EFT I Thought I definitely would love to have her as a guest And perhaps you can share a little bit of your background and how you got into EFT.

[00:00:37] Sophia: Okay, so let me explain what EFT first is and then we'll go on that. So EFT, I do clinical EFT which is evidence, evidence based EFT that has been tested with clinical trials and it's a combination between um, psychotherapy, cognitive psychotherapy and tapping on [00:01:00] the body's meridians So like doing acupuncture, but without the needles and it is believed that by verbalizing the emotion and at the same time tapping, you're moving energy that was not processed in the body and disease is a lowering of frequency that we're going to discuss a little bit later.

[00:01:24] Sophia: So how did I get into it? Well, Myself, like anybody else, worked in the corporate world. Um, my background is in medicine. Uh, I have an epidemiology in public health. And, um, I was highly stressed. And I, uh, encountered an unfortunate experience. Um, receiving a surgery that I never, uh, needed, uh, that almost cost me my life.

[00:01:56] Sophia: But I did get out of the hospital [00:02:00] after 23 days, uh, after not being expected to live. But the bigger issue is I was left with numerous health challenges that lasted for a little over 14 years. And while I got the best medical treatment, the problem was never getting solved. So the symptoms would be patched up or alleviated over a period of time, but it was a cyclical issue.

[00:02:27] Sophia: So every time the stress came up, the patterns were there. So the symptoms got aggravated, but towards the end, uh, I couldn't even alleviate the symptoms. And that's when I started exploring other modalities, because my question was always, how can a very healthy body, which was the case, I may have had stress, but I was extremely healthy, conscious of what I was eating.

[00:02:53] Sophia: Um, I can be expected not to live the next morning. [00:03:00] So that put me on a search and I ended up with various teachings. Uh, one of them was Dr. Joe dispenses, uh, teachings, and that made a lot of sense for me. I had a model, but then I had a second problem. I did not know how to channel my emotions and how to navigate through the bodily sensations.

[00:03:25] Sophia: And that created a big problem for me. So I couldn't combine the two. I had heard of EFT. I had maybe seen it online. I don't think I had tried a practitioner. I had tried everything else that's under the sun. Just name it. Everything else was tried and not one session. Every modality I would try, it would be a minimum of 10 or 20 sessions before I would say it didn't work.

[00:03:52] Sophia: So you can understand, you can see how much effort I put in. So I said, let me give it a try again. And then I [00:04:00] realized, EFT had the answer, uh, because energy started moving. I started reframing certain experiences and there were only momentary glimpses or moments that I felt joy after the emotion was released because I had a lot of emotional trauma and a lot of other things going on.

[00:04:24] Sophia: And 18 months later, I started seeing results. And that's how I ended up in, uh, with EFT and I made a decision. Well, if it had helped me that I was so set in my ways and I didn't believe that energy told me there was energy out there, I'd say, uh, what are you smoking? Or what are you drinking? Uh, And so that made a drastic change.

[00:04:51] Sophia: So I think the combination of both harnessing the mind with EFT because we have six bodies and we [00:05:00] need to align minimum three, which is the mental, the emotional and the physical, then we can start seeing changes in our reality. And I appreciate the fact that you pointed out that it takes time. The 18 months You must have had some subtle indicators, but overall it probably required some level of faith.

[00:05:24] Sophia: Uh, it did. I wasn't seeing any results, but I had started believing that I could, uh, heal because I had heard of other people, but there were a lot of beliefs that needed to be dispelled. So anybody who has a health challenge, one belief that has to be dispelled, I don't care what's your background, is what the medical model says.

[00:05:45] Sophia: If the medical model says that it's incurable, which was the case with me, that belief has to be dispelled. Because if you do believe that, yes, you will alleviate some of your symptoms, but you're going to, it's going to be [00:06:00] very hard to navigate through. So the belief shifted to that. Maybe I can heal. Then the second belief came.

[00:06:08] Sophia: Well, everybody else can heal, but me because my condition is different. So that had to be, uh, dispelled. But yes, there was a level of faith and faith is required in the process. in order to get, go through. Even if you go as skeptic, you will get some benefits from EFT. I don't know how far you're going to go, but you will definitely get benefits of feeling better and energy moving.

[00:06:36] Sophia: If you go as skeptic. Now, there are some people who are completely shut down and they don't want to try. Well, that is your choice. Uh, here's something that has no side effects. Absolutely not even one and you could heal. It has some positive side effects. So I have worked with many clients that we've worked on [00:07:00] trauma and other stuff, not focusing on weight.

[00:07:03] Sophia: And they naturally have lost this last client. I was working this morning. She's lost close to 30 pounds. She didn't even go on the diet. Okay. So there was a lot of fear left the body because when we have fear, the sympathetic nervous system gets activated and pretty much, it's very hard for you to lose weight.

[00:07:22] Sophia: I've also had other clients, including myself that are afraid, like of, uh, snakes or insects and naturally It disappears. You have less fear. And I've had people who are afraid of dogs and cats without even working on the dog and cat. Now they can go and pet the animal. So these are direct effects of EFT as we release our fears that make clear naturally without even being focused on it.

[00:07:55] Sophia: Perhaps, um, would you be open to giving a small example for someone who has never [00:08:00] actually seen or heard of EFT? Absolutely. So I'll pick you as my, uh, uh, person to work with. Um, please pick a topic, not highly traumatic, uh, something that's has an intensity, a high intensity. Uh, that you can think of in the very moment that still impacts you and has a charge.

[00:08:27] Shilpa Lewis: Is there, and first you'll tell me what the emotion is, but pick an event. Is there an event that's disturbing you right now or a situation that's disturbing? Um, yes. Do you want me to say it or just, yes, well, if we're going to do the audience, yes, might as well share it. So pick something you're be willing to share.

[00:08:46] Shilpa Lewis: Oh, okay. Okay. Um. Okay.

[00:08:51] Shilpa Lewis: I'm, I'm pausing because, um, I'm trying to figure out which one I want to share. I would say, um, I have higher [00:09:00] glucose levels lately than I'd like, and I am just recently aware of it, and I know that in the last six months, several months, I've had a spike in anxiety, even though I meditate, I'm a meditation coach.

[00:09:18] Shilpa Lewis: So those two could be co related scientifically, perhaps, but I just think that that would be a good topic for me to work on. Okay, so when you say high glucose, your A1c is high, your glucose level, okay, what's The range on that, um, I don't have the numbers in front of me, but I just got results. Okay, so I'm going to look under metaconsciousness to read to the audience.

[00:09:47] Shilpa Lewis: What also is high diabetes or pre diabetic because you might be just pre diabetic and I had been pre diabetic. I just need to look it up because I don't remember them by heart. So [00:10:00] categories, let me log in and we'll address that. And that way the audience can see how we tackle it. And how do you feel about having, uh, high glucose levels?

[00:10:15] Shilpa Lewis: Not happy. I'm frustrated because I know better in terms of how to eat and how to live, but clearly something's been off. Okay, so I'm going to quickly read what diabetes is. It's pretty long, but I'm going to just pick one or two paragraphs. Okay, so. When I'm only going to read the beginning and then I'm going to go to the bottom.

[00:10:42] Sophia: So when diabetes symptoms exist, it's because the person felt he was not able to keep sugar reserves. In diabetic people, sugar escapes through urine. Diabetic people are unable to assimilate and store sugar in their own cells. [00:11:00] Previously in certain countries, so please take this with a grain of salt, previously in certain countries, diabetes was known as sugar diarrhea, which actually means diarrhea of love.

[00:11:13] Sophia: The body of the diabetic person is showing him that he deprives himself of love. The word diabetes comes from the Greek word, which means to pass through something. In other words, so you might be going through a phase. In other words, the person who does not know how to enjoy himself, it becomes, the situation becomes unbearable.

[00:11:38] Sophia: The diabetic. person longs for love, but does not dare searching for it. He's waiting everlastingly. He has not learned what love is. Well, it could be just a phase. So the keyword here is love, being able to receive love or moving away from love. So it may happen if you've lost a loved one, just so you [00:12:00] know.

[00:12:00] Sophia: So if you had something stable in your life that was giving you love and you lost it. Now the The body's going to produce more sugar in it and so your diabetes symptoms is going to go high and I just want to see the last paragraph because this is pretty long.

[00:12:20] Sophia: Okay, so in this case it's in this case it is important to work with the person in the acceptance of love for himself, and for the other person the pancreas temper temper rises are. Glycemia, it stores our sugar or when we need it later. The internal insulin secretion plays a role in the absorption of sugar by the cells or of the body.

[00:12:46] Sophia: Uh, it is the insulin that stores the sugar. And so I won't go to the rest. So pretty much something has been deprived in your life. And [00:13:00] let's do a round of tapping. So when you think about it, now that your, uh, sugar is increased or the level of sugar is increased, where in your body do you feel frustrated?

[00:13:15] Sophia: Um,

[00:13:16] Shilpa Lewis: I would say heart and head. Okay. And, um, What's the, if you were to give me an intensity from one to ten, how much is it? Ten. Okay. It's pretty high. And what is the belief about yourself or about the condition that you have, uh, uh, about this fact? Cause this is new news for you, right? Mm hmm. Um, the belief, I believe I can.

[00:13:50] Shilpa Lewis: reverse it through proper diet and readjusting my exercise. I have [00:14:00] in my ability to do it and conviction. Yes. What's the negative belief? Um, I don't know if I can describe it more than just pure frustration. Uh, that's the emotion. What's the negative belief that could be running subconsciously? Why is this happening to me?

[00:14:21] Shilpa Lewis: I'm not sure I can clear it fast or I'm going to have other health issues. Um, I believe I will, I'm going to need to, um, change my routine. Okay, and you're not happy about that? Yeah, I just, uh, I'm already overwhelmed. But it's important to, um, be more proactive with self care. And I'm aware of it. That's what I advocate for.

[00:14:52] Shilpa Lewis: But sometimes we become our own, um, person that we need to adjust.[00:15:00]

[00:15:03] Sophia: Okay, and one more last question I'm going to tap and so how long have you known about this? And when, uh, what happened six months before it? Or any time between six months before? I've known for two days. Okay. About six months ago, um, we lost my mother in law who I was close to. Okay, so you lost the love.

[00:15:27] Sophia: Yeah, right. So the person is unable to feel love, which is what the article was trying to say in a roundabout way. So even though, so you're going to tap wherever you've tapped before. Yes. Okay. So we're going to use the regular part, the sides of the breast that they will always, and we're going to use the lever because the lever is anger, which is under the breast, the one under your bra.

[00:15:57] Sophia: point. Now, is it left to right as [00:16:00] a circuit? Is that correct? Uh, yeah, it doesn't matter which way, but I will, you'll just mimic me. Okay. I use both hands. So I know some people use one. I do both. So even though, I'm so frustrated. I'm so frustrated. I feel it in my head and my heart. I feel in my head and my heart.

[00:16:21] Sophia: Thinking about finding out two days ago that my glucose levels are high. Thinking that I realize my glucose levels are high. My body's trying to talk to me, but I don't know what its language is. My body's trying to talk to me, but I don't know what its language is. And I allow myself to feel my feelings.

[00:16:40] Sophia: I'm gonna allow myself to feel my feelings. And, uh, find some peace with this. And find some peace with this. And even though. And even though. I'm breathing your belly. I feel so frustrated. I feel so frustrated. And it's about a ten. [00:17:00] It's about a ten. And I feel it in my head, and I feel it in my heart. And I feel it in my head, and I feel it in my heart.

[00:17:07] Sophia: Out of nowhere, I found out two days ago. My glucose levels are high. Out of nowhere, just two days ago, I learned that my glucose levels are high. This is the last thing I needed at this time. This is the last thing I needed at this time. Uh, and I'm open to seeing things differently. I'm open to seeing things differently and seeing what my body is communicating with me and seeing what my body is communicating so I can heal this so I can heal this and even though and even though I'm so frustrated, I'm so frustrated out of nowhere.

[00:17:50] Sophia: I got results for higher glucose levels. I don't know where I got results for higher glucose levels. And I feel it in my heart and in my head. [00:18:00] I feel it in my heart and in my head. This is the last thing I needed at this point in my life. This is the last thing I needed at this point in my life. And I allow myself to feel what I'm feeling.

[00:18:12] Sophia: I allow myself to feel what I'm feeling and I'm open to hearing what my body has to, what my body is trying to communicate with me, and I'm open to hearing what my body wants to communicate with me. All of this frustration in my head and in my heart, all of this frustration in my head and my heart, so much frustration in my head and my heart, so much frustration in my head and my heart, and I know there are some.

[00:18:40] Sophia: Other thoughts running in the background. And I know there are other thoughts running in the background. That I'm going to have to make some changes and I feel overwhelmed. I'm going to need to make some changes, and I'm feeling overwhelmed. I wasn't looking for that for right now. I wasn't looking for that for right now.

[00:18:57] Sophia: My plate is quite full. My [00:19:00] plate is quite full. And I teach meditation, and I can't get why did this happen to me? And I teach meditation, so I can't get why this is happening to me. Why is my body responding with this? Why is my body responding with this? Well, I've had a major loss. Well, I've had a major loss.

[00:19:20] Sophia: You said it was your mother in law, right? Yes.

[00:19:22] Sophia: I lost my mother in law who I deeply cared for. I lost my mother in law who I deeply cared for. Who gave me a lot of love in return. And as a result now, my body is missing that love. And the body naturally is going to retain sugar. Because my sympathetic nervous system has been activated with this grief.

[00:19:55] Sophia: And I'm And I [00:20:00] have a major gap in the love I'm missing from her, and I have a major gap in the love I'm missing. I received a lot of love and support from her. You received a lot of love and support from her, and my body is showing it to me and my body is showing it to me. My body is showing to me that I need to love myself Through this grieving process, my body's shown to me.

[00:20:22] Sophia: I need to love myself through this grieving process. It's so hard for me right now with everything else going on. It's so hard for me with everything else going on. These bodily sensations are not easy to navigate. These bodily sensations are not easy to navigate. All of this frustration in my head and my heart.

[00:20:43] Sophia: All of this frustration in my head and my heart. I can't believe I have higher glucose levels. I can't believe I have higher glucose levels. What else is going to be added on my plate? What else is going to be added on my plate? I barely have enough time to [00:21:00] take care of myself. I barely have enough time to take care of myself.

[00:21:04] Sophia: And now I'm going to have to make some changes. And now I'm going to need to make some changes. And I know I can turn this around. And I know I can turn this around. Because I do believe in that. Because I do believe in that. But, it's just too much for me to do at this time. It's just too much for me to do at this time.

[00:21:24] Sophia: So it's very important that I resolve this. It's very important that I resolve this. All of this frustration in my head and my heart. All of this frustration in my head and my heart. We'll do one more quick round of a different type of tapping. I retrieve all of my energy. I retrieve all of my energy.

[00:21:44] Sophia: Bound up to this frustration. Bound up to this frustration. Associated to the, bound up to the higher glucose levels. Bound up to those higher glucose levels. And I take it back, cleanse. I take it back, cleanse. [00:22:00] To the right place within myself. Right place within myself. And I remove. And I remove. All non me energy.

[00:22:10] Sophia: All. Non me energy. Non me energy. Uh, associated to the higher glucose levels. Associated with the higher glucose levels. For my cells, for my bodies. For my cells and my bodies. And my personal space. And my personal space. And I send it back cleansed. I send it back cleansed. To where it truly belongs. To where I truly belong.

[00:22:38] Sophia: And I retrieve. And I retrieve. All of my energy. All of my energy. Bound up to all of my reactions. Bound up to all my reactions. To these higher glucose levels. To these higher glucose levels. I am so frustrated. I'm so frustrated. I don't know why this is happening to me now. [00:23:00] I don't know why this is happening to me.

[00:23:01] Sophia: And I have to change my routine. And I have to change my routine. I'll probably have to exercise more. I'll have to probably exercise more. And watch what I'm eating. And watch what I'm eating. And I take it back cleansed. And I take it back cleansed. To the right place within myself. To the right place within myself.

[00:23:20] Sophia: And I release. And I release. All emotional attachments. And I release. All emotional attachments. To this memory. To this memory. When I found out I had higher glucose levels, when I found out I had higher glucose levels, and I send this memory and where, and I send this memory and this memory back into the past.

[00:23:43] Sophia: Back into the past where it actually took place. Where it actually took place, and I restore and I restore the right energy flow imbalance. The right energy flow and balance to my head, to my head, my [00:24:00] heart, my heart, and my pancreas and liver. My pancreas and liver. So take a breath, hold it, and when you can't hold it anymore, blow it out.

[00:24:11] Sophia: Let's take a look.

[00:24:24] Sophia: So, when you think about the higher glucose level, how strong is the frustration from one to ten? At the moment, it feels like a three. Okay, so, so this is an excellent example for the audience to see. Within less than five minutes, I don't know, seven minutes, you can drop that. So, the more we drop these lower frequency emotions, the body returns to normal.

[00:24:52] Sophia: back to homeostasis, right? We want to activate the parasympathetic nervous system because that knows how to heal the [00:25:00] body. So that is key. So when the body is at a, at a place of ease, it naturally heals. Now the medical model believes on symptoms. Meta consciousness and EFT and other modalities believe the energetic component.

[00:25:21] Sophia: So all disease is a lowering of frequency. Now you address something that your audience may have questions and may be perplexed. So you said you are, you teach meditation. So in meditation, the key part of meditation is to get awareness and to not engage to the thoughts. So, we don't neutralize emotions in meditation, which is why meditation hasn't solved the problem.

[00:25:51] Sophia: Remember, we started with three bodies, so the bodily sensations need to be processed, and that's where [00:26:00] EFT comes, and it complements meditation. Does that make sense? Yes. Yeah. And you brought up, also, food and exercise. The new research indicates, and there's a few movies on Netflix that you can go and find out, it's not what you're eating exactly that's going to make the difference, and it's not necessarily the carbohydrates.

[00:26:24] Sophia: That are causing the higher glucose level is just the body is retaining them. So when you see that, uh, I think there's an older of one was called forks and knives or knives and forks. It's an older movie on Netflix, but there's many of them that explain it's not so much the food. So the food takes a 30%.

[00:26:51] Sophia: Cause to it, but the 70 percent is energetic. So from my point of view, without wanting, you know, and I'm not sure I know all your [00:27:00] details is the major loss has caused a significant issue. And there's a delay in the outer world when that shows up. So you lost a lot of love. And so when you feel that love and you let that energy move, your body is going to return back to natural where it was meant to.

[00:27:23] Sophia: Now, if you, if you do want to implement, I highly would say I'm not a doctor. So the audience knows I would highly recommend good, healthy eating. Uh, I definitely can tell you processed food will increase glucose levels, but if your food is not processed, Then, I could consider some other modalities to help myself.

[00:27:48] Sophia: Uh, fasting has known, uh, water fasting, ten days might, seven to ten days might give the body a boost and it resets it. You can [00:28:00] include some breath work, and you'd be surprised with some tapping and all of the stuff if you don't get it down within less than two months. That is really good, and you know, I believe in all of the modalities I became exposed to.

[00:28:16] Sophia: Not exposed to, that's not the right word, but, um, aware of tapping, um, couple of years ago, two or three years ago and loved it. The first time I tried it, I felt like energized. Like literally I felt tingles. And, um, I've had a couple of guests who are, um, you know, in that modality as well. So I truly enjoyed the session.

[00:28:39] Sophia: I, I highly recommend people who have any kind of blockage, Or even feel the need to increase their energy to try tapping. Yes. Uh, tapping is a great modality, and there's some other modalities that go in it, uh, re imprinting your [00:29:00] traumatic memories that can be done with, uh, tapping, re imprinting your birth, if you had a traumatic birth, and rewriting your story, so, uh, and not everybody is trained in trauma.

[00:29:12] Sophia: So, uh, I think when you add all of that stuff. the person can see dramatic changes in their life. And the body is very important to be at ease because this is the vehicle you're going to keep in this lifetime. But this is also the vehicle that's going to take you to the other dimension. Most people think they're going to drop this body part off.

[00:29:37] Sophia: This is what's actually going to get you now to the other dimension. And so this is very important to maintain. Uh, for us, and we were taught not to feel our emotions, which is sad, and a lot of us are uncomfortable, including myself sometimes, but that's the way you release them. Absolutely. And, you know, on [00:30:00] that point also, I believe that you've probably heard this many times.

[00:30:03] Sophia: I've heard it many times that emotions that are locked become the stagnated energy that can lead to other issues. That's correct. So the body is a battery. I'd like to give an analogy. You brought up a great point. So we all have cell phones. And so imagine you've had a cell phone and even though you restarted the cell phone.

[00:30:28] Sophia: Your battery is draining and you go and look and you see 30 apps that you've had open and you hadn't swiped them closed and the battery keeps on draining. Well, the same thing with the body. Traumatic memories are replaying in the background or certain attached stuck energies are playing at the back of your subconscious mind.

[00:30:49] Sophia: And it's draining the body that's a battery and the, why do we know it's a battery? Because the moment the person dies, what do we do? We take two paddles and we put an electrical charge [00:31:00] to resuscitate the person. So they think that by going to sleep, the day left while you restart your phone and it hasn't left because you need to close those out.

[00:31:12] Sophia: So we need to close and process those traumatic experiences. Okay. Wonderful. And because you've gone through it and you experienced firsthand that, um, the trauma, I believe that you're the perfect person to speak to this modality because it's helped you heal. Correct. Wonderful. Well, Sophia, I truly enjoyed our session.

[00:31:41] Sophia: Is there anything you'd like to share with the audience before we close? Yes. I'd love to share a few things. And wherever you're at. However, you're stuck. There's always another solution. You are not meant to be stuck in the miserable reality [00:32:00] or with a condition that they claim there's no solution. I'm here to say the opposite is true.

[00:32:07] Sophia: Uh, and if you really lost, you're welcome to come to my website and I have a few free options. So, I have a complimentary 30 minute session, so we can discuss what you're looking for. I teach a masterclass on Dr. Joe Dispenza's teachings, Change Your Mind, Create New Results, because I teach a course. The first two options are free.

[00:32:29] Sophia: There's tons of information there, and I'm happy to help them, and they all need, all need, and there's an assessment they can do if they want to. just need to go to the website, tap into your best self dot com. And there's Even if this modality is not right for you, I can probably suggest what might be right to you.

[00:32:50] Sophia: Uh, but between the two things that I teach, I think one of the two will work for anybody. If it worked for me that I was so stubborn, I'm sure it can [00:33:00] work for someone else. And just out of curiosity, how, like what that exercise we went through, um, should I repeat that on my own with the mantras that you were teaching?

[00:33:14] Sophia: Yes, you can repeat that and modify the words to, to replace them with what you're feeling, right? Normally in a regular session, I will ask you a little bit more information and I should have said, you know, modify if something I said did not resonate because the key here has to resonate to your experience.

[00:33:35] Sophia: But yes, it would be very helpful and you will learn along the way to change the words to suit yours because. Maybe the emotion is, um, I'm now anger or maybe move to a different body part. Or maybe there's another area in your life that you're feeling you're not getting love. So it could be someone [00:34:00] in your close environment that you feel is depriving you of love.

[00:34:03] Sophia: So the body now is showing you I'm holding on to the sugar because we associate sugar with love. It's a comfort food. So the body saying I'm going to hold on to the sugar because I'm not feeling loved enough because you're looking to get it from the outside. The book told us is to find ways first to get it on the inside, and then of course tapping to clear the outside, and then the outside will match the outer world, will match the inner world.

[00:34:34] Sophia: And that more energetically, I know this is kind of subtle and woohoo for some people. It's you, you're really tapping into matching to that vibrational level. Now, um, my past knowledge of tapping, there's that formula of what you say and how you say it, which you can change. How frequently should I practice?

[00:34:57] Sophia: Every time you have a negative emotion, [00:35:00] I would tap and I'll give an easy formula for everybody so they know. So on the internet, you always see I deeply and completely love and accept myself. The reason I didn't use that. is I don't know if the person at that time can deeply completely love and accept themselves.

[00:35:16] Sophia: So, So, what I do is I tune into the body, what it is that I'm feeling. I'm feeling anger, let's say, what is the event in the now moment because creation only happens in the now, or thinking about it now, so it's always in the now it could be an event that took place in the past or it's going to take place in the future but how do you feel about it now.

[00:35:42] Sophia: So, okay, so I'm angry because tomorrow I'm going to meet John. And he's going to tick me off. So thinking about it now, I'm angry in my gut. So you measure the intensity. The reason we want the intensity is because we want to create a [00:36:00] biofeedback loop so the mind can see it can drop. So, okay, it's seven. So then we start at the side of the hand.

[00:36:08] Sophia: Why the side of the hand? because it changes polarity. So we start, even though I'm so angry, uh, about seeing John tomorrow because he rubs me the wrong way. I'm open to feeling my emotions and I'm open to finding a place of peace. I put something neutral. So we start with even though. So we, that reality does not glue on that.

[00:36:37] Sophia: So that's why we did the even though. And then at the end of the sentence, I put something positive to neutralize it. And then you go through the body parts. I'm so angry in my gut. I'm so angry and anything else you want to say, I'm so angry. I can't believe he treats me that way. I'm so angry. And you connect to where you're feeling it in the body.

[00:36:59] Sophia: You [00:37:00] always put your awareness. That's what actually does the healing, not so much the words, but connecting and feeling the energy sensation in the body. And that is the basic standard formula for people to do. And They don't have to stick with the deeply and completely love and accept myself because in the beginning that sentence for me never resonated.

[00:37:23] Sophia: I was in misery. I was afraid I wasn't going to live the next day and you're telling me to deeply and completely accept myself, you're out of your mind. So you find something neutral for you. Wonderful. And is there a best time in the day? Or I think you said just do it in the moment, right? Anytime you feel an emotion that's taking over, there is no downside to tapping.

[00:37:50] Sophia: The key here is consistency. Uh, because when you tap, especially if there's fear, the body comes into the present moment. Because if a [00:38:00] tiger was chasing you, you wouldn't be tapping. You'd be thinking of running. So just the fact you're touching yourself or, you know, Some people like to rub. I do the tap.

[00:38:12] Sophia: The body has reduces its high alert that there's extreme danger. So that's what brings us to the present moment. So anytime you can, I sometimes even do it when I watch a movie, you know, I just do it as a habit because I know it regulates the body and I'm not saying anything. I'm just watching something and I'm tapping and I'm Uh, that way, whatever negative I'm watching, if it's negative, it doesn't stick to me and it becomes a habit and it's, it's a wonderful modality.

[00:38:45] Sophia: I have nothing, there's no downsides to topic. What I do want to say, the person who was the inventor, uh, Gary Craig gave it for free to the world. I think he's 84 [00:39:00] and I may have some of the details incorrect, but I saw him recently on the zoom. He had a stroke. I think he was paralyzed on one side. He's been in less than four months completely healed with tapping.

[00:39:13] Sophia: He used his own principles on himself. And he runs Zoom calls, and he has his wits together, and he's computer literate. And there's no defect in him. And he looks great for 84 years old. That's wonderful. And, um, are there any prescriptions of how many times you need to do it before it's correct? It's not a matter of correct.

[00:39:39] Sophia: You do it, you will get the flow. It's just getting into a routine. It's like meditation, right? In the first, you don't know what the void is, you don't know what the darkness is, and then eventually the chatter stops and you find your way. Again, there's nothing negative to it. TFT, the more you tap, the better off you are.

[00:39:58] Sophia: And, uh, [00:40:00] I do want to say to the audience that there's over 300 peer reviewed studies and clinical trials and EFT does downregulate six genes of stress. One of them is cortisol and it does downregulate certain genes. Uh, and it's more effective than psychotherapy and it works much faster. So, and we have brain scans to prove it as well.

[00:40:24] Sophia: I've

[00:40:25] Sophia: truly

[00:40:25] Shilpa Lewis: enjoyed our conversation, and I may invite you back if you will, will come back. I invite people to look at the show notes, and I will be following up for sure, because I truly enjoyed it. I did too. Well, thank you for having me. on your show and I hope the audience gets the opportunity to experience or at least find whether it's with me or someone else, doesn't have to be me, an avenue that can liberate themselves from what we've been told most of our lives.

[00:40:56] Shilpa Lewis: Well, thank you, Sophia. You're serving a lot [00:41:00] of people in a profound way. Thank you.
